When I went to bed my heart did wonder
what new thing has reared it's head
What happened to fighting for the truth
is it still alive or is it dead

What happened to justice and equal rights
have we become prisoners in just on day
What has cased us to put, each other down
and reject what one has to say

What happened to the freedom of expression
when it's not done to cause any pain
But it's done to share with an innocent heart
and not looking for to gain any fame

Does not God tell us to love one another
and not to go around with hate
now it is nothing wrong, in saying this
unless you want to stay in this state

I don't write to challenge one's intellect
nor do I write to judge and debate
When God gave me, the choice to use it right
so I write about love, for I refuse to hate

When I look all around this great big world
and see the suffering of children and adults
God's gift helps me, to write about solutions
and not using it for finding fault

We first stated out as being a free country
we stood for cause's rather big or small
But now we find joy, in hurting and killing
and rejoicing when one does fall

O' America don't you see that we have wavered
away from the good fruits of the vine
We have allowed our pride to set us aside
and left the God of mercy way behind
