Subtle undertones of deceit
Flow carefully from your lips,
Denying any impropriety
Of your actions;
Your fierceness, coupled with an insistence
To convince me of your innocence
Has betrayed you.
The vigor with which you have pursued
Your adversaries has caused a rift
With those around you;
Relationships have been fractured
Due to destructive actions;
Undermining the authority
Of those who oppose your agenda,
You have done in secret
That which causes me hesitation,
Wondering what is truth and what is false.

Even though I feel
Somewhat betrayed by the
Circumstances that have come to light,
I am reminded
Of the greatest betrayal of them all-
That of Judas Iscariot,
Who betrayed my Savior, Jesus Christ;
God's only son, who did no sin;
Was sent to die a criminal's death on a cross.
Full of pain and suffering for the
Sins of all mankind.

In this light any hurt of mine
Becomes of no consequence.
I will pay my vows to You, O Lord,
My forgiveness will prevail.
In the face of wrongdoing,
I choose abiding love,
Instead of anger,
Continued peace.
Let Christ's love prevail.
