You’re a brother to me,
A gift that didn’t have to be…
God placed you in my life,
Full view for all to see…
Although parents not the same,
We walk together through life’s game…
We share a special friendship,
Sense of family – yet different names…
You're a brother to me,
Shared journey through reality…
A giver - not a taker,
You shine light so others may see…
Your heart is always true,
I’ve been blessed through all you do…
Generous acts of kindness,
Never expecting return to you…
You’re a brother to me,
As I’ve overcome uncertainty…
I feel strength through you as a brother,
Just as the calmness on the sea…
God placed you in my life…
To help guide me through my strife,
That’s an equally shared blessing,,
Shared in my children and my wife…
You're a brother to me,
God planned for us to be "we"…
Although with love of three sisters,
There’s always room in your home for me...
Today, may you find in these words,
Gratitude not always heard…
A special “Happy Birthday”
Followed by many more to be…
That’s my wish and prayer this day,
Because you’re a brother to me…
