Clean Healing Rain

One evening, I went for a brisk walk to get some fresh air and to get away from all that was distracting me at home. Faced with a decision that was truly bothering me and hurting my heart, I paced up-and-down the long pavement which led to the end of my road. As I reached the grass verge of the T-junction, I started to cry uncontrollably. With tears running down my face, I closed my eyes and fell down on my knees, raising my hands up high and prayed. It hasn’t rained for days in Ohio. All of a sudden I felt a large drop of rain hit the top of my head and start to run down my face mixing with my tears. "It's raining!” I screamed with tears of joy.

Suddenly, the rain began to pour down from the heavens. A mighty deluge fell from the skies and I felt like the Holy One above was crying with me. Soaked to my skin, I started to pray out loud these words of thanksgiving, "Lord, rain on me with the healing waters that will wash away the sinful dirt I have in my soul and make my soul be clean again. Give me clean hands and a clean heart. Have this rain wash me whiter than snow. Renew me and let all my sins be forgiven….let the things that are bleary become clear to the sight of the eyes of my heart, in Jesus Christ's loving name!!"

As I paused for a brief while, drenched in the cataracts of heavenly rain, I felt a warm hand touch my shoulder. It was as if someone was there right beside me listening to my prayer. I quickly opened my eyes, and looked up to see who it was. To my amazement, it was the Holy One. Yes, my LORD stood in front of me with a beautiful, friendly smile on His face. With tears falling down His face, He fell down on His knees with one hand on my shoulder and another hand raised up high, He closed His eyes and prayed. The words that He spoke to me were, “My precious daughter, I’m here with you listening to your heart.... I’m not leaving you, your not alone. My beloved Child, let's pray with our tears together in my cleansing rain that will heal your soul!!"
