Search the Scriptures to find eternal life,
For in your belief that the answer is there;
And possible clues for the ending of strife,
A witness of Christ is in the Word to share.

Search the Scriptures for bearing witness,
And still have no desire to come to Christ;
So you may have life from His blessedness,
But having no inspiration for being enticed.

Search the Scriptures in finding knowledge,
Even though you just have no love for God;
For an earthly lust and sin is your bondage,
No time to pay respect with honor and laud.

Search the Scriptures to know in your heart,
To who has come in the name of the Father;
But you are unable to have faith to impart,
Under whose authority may come another.

Search the Scriptures if you have a desire,
To honor the living God the one and only;
As with Moses in seeing the bush on fire,
Transforming you to righteous and holy.
