Holidays
As the shuffle and bustle of the holiday shopping season gets more and more hectic, what do you think about? Do you think about, I just got to make it to that sale! Or do you think, Praise the Lord for sending His Son to save my soul! Unfortunately, most of us are thinking about the sale. We need to remember Jesus and His miraculous birth 2000 years ago. Our lives and our children's lives depend on it.
Do your children know the story of the first Christmas? Luke 2 is a great starting point. As a Christian parent our lives are to reflect Christ. Christmas is about the ultimate gift being given. Jesus was born on that first Christmas so that 36 years later He could die on the cross as our Living Sacrifice. Such good news. But what is even better is that he arose 3 days later.
So encourage all of you to take the time this season to reflect on exactly what Christmas is. It's not all about what Santa Claus can bring the children. It's about what God has given to all of us.
