They watched as He walked
up Calvary mountain...
They watched as cruel
men whipped Him...
They watched as
men slapped Him,
and mocked Him...
Oh how they wanted
to fly to His Side...
To end the mockery...
to stop the shame...
And ease His pain....
But the Father said...
Stay...
And they obeyed...
And they wept...
They watched as
their Master
was being crucified...
They watched as
the nails pierced
His Hands and feet...
They shuddered and sighed...
For they longed to fly,
to be by His Side...
To end the mockery...
And ease His pain....
But the Father said...
Stay...
And they obeyed..
And they wept.
They watched as He hung
there on the Cross,
In shame and agony...
They stood amazed when
they heard Him say....
Father forgive them,for they
know not what they do...
And when at last with
His dying breath He said...
It is finished....
They cried.....
For they longed to fly,
to be by His Side...
To end the mockery...
And ease His pain....
But the Father said...
Stay...
And they obeyed..
And they wept.
