It refers not only to those in jail in Texas, Florida and other death penalty States. At least three-quarters of the human race are on Death Row. In Australia I’d say it’s 95 per cent. These are “nice, average people” presently condemned by God. Many of our friends and relatives are on Eternal Death Row. It’s an awesome thought.

Pray for them yes, but we have to do more than pray. Unless we do something about it, they won’t be enjoying the earthly blessings and future delights in heaven that Christians love to write about on this website.

Those friends and relatives—and millions of others—are the ones who have so far rejected Jesus, or haven’t heard the consequences of not taking Him seriously. Oh yes, they’ve heard that God is kind and loving and good, but that’s all they’ve heard. “A loving God will never condemn me,” they say. They don’t hear the (almost forgotten) key gospel words—Jesus, sin, heaven, hell, the blood, the cross, repentance, baptism, salvation.

The Bible is clear that God will condemn those rejecting the gospel. Jesus, speaking of Himself: “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18).

Again: “…..but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

People will remain on Death Row until they are willing to repent and believe. We cannot make them believe or repent; but we can point out the folly of not doing so. This is where Christianity is failing, and we have to change that.

On the back window of my car is large lettering. It says “Hell is biblical. Turn to Jesus today.” Some would say it is too negative, confrontational, fear-inducing. Maybe, but it is Bible truth. I would rather scare someone into heaven than caress them into hell with evasive, syrupy words. Bearing in mind that everything we do must be done with love, as per 1 Corinthians 13.

What is important is everyone who reads that sign on the car has a choice. They can ignore the warning, remain hell-bound on Death Row, or do something about it. Once they have read the sign they cannot plead ignorance; that no-one told them. The tragedy is in not hearing the essential truths of the gospel, and that is what’s happening today.

When churches begin using their money on telling Bible truth publicly, we’ll see results. Spending thousands of dollars on electrical/electronic equipment isn’t the way to go. If that money is spent instead on spreading gospel messages via radio and TV—something will happen. The messages must contain the key gospel words as aforementioned. Then people will get saved in large numbers.

Where I live in Australia there are Christian ads on TV and they are weak, pathetic, meaningless. A total waste of money. People don’t hear anything of gospel truth. They are shown pictures of people sailing on a lake on a sunny day, with a caption saying God loves us all. Everyone knows that!! They’ve heard it umpteen times. Would any apostle in the Early Church have given such a weak message? It’s unlikely to save anyone.

We have to stop pussyfooting. Christians en masse need to memorise 2 Timothy 1:7 then go out and boldly convey non-watered gospel truth by way of the media, street witness, one-to-one, tracts, signs on the car (not a fish symbol !) or whatever other method God gives. I’ve done it and I know from experience God backs His word.

We can also be a witness by the way we act and behave. “Fortune favours the brave” is not biblical but it’s true nonetheless.

One person in a town evangelizing and—“He’s a weirdo.” Two—“hmmm.” Ten—“Could be something in this.” Fifty—“Wow, those Christians are everywhere.” Get the point?

Ask God: What can I do about getting those multitudes off Death Row? He will show you.
