Chronic indifference. To the world and by the world. And we weren't made to fit and yet everyone tries. Like puzzle pieces with no borders, we want freedom from within, with no solid edges. But at the same time we want a minimally pliable border which allows us to connect with the outside. We're like amorphous drifters seeking to fit in and yet be apart, be unique, be characteristically asystematic. Yet, all the while seeking approval by others who are no more stable or enduring then the next. We are indifferent to ourselves, claiming phrases like this one which I detest: "uncomfortable in my own skin." As if anyone, or anyone with greater purpose, greater calling, should ever be comfortable in a place so far from where he began?! It pains me to watch even the sure ones be so unsure. If I faulter, I hope to regain my stance before anyone notices, before I appear the amorphous and undedicated fraud that I would be. I'm weary at times, optimistic at other times, but one thing I will not accept is being indifferent. We have made a vow to be biased and we have an approximately 1500 page guide on how to be just that. Just how much more education, how much more guidance, how much more validation do we need?
