“Lord, teach me patience today,” I prayed.
I didn’t know what I was asking.
The computer went crazy.
I lost my freshly written article.
My friend had a fight with me.
I tapped my foot.
My family demanded my time.
My children pestered me with questions.
I glanced at my watch.
Dinner was late.
I missed my favorite show.
My dog broke her leash.
I grumbled.
I groused.
Until a still, small voice said,
“You asked me to teach you patience.
I have given you opportunities to display this fruit many times today.
Have you?”
Conviction.
“Lord, forgive me,” I prayed. “Teach me patience. And help me to recognize the lessons.”
