From a Washington travel agent's memoirs -- "A Senator's Aide
called in inquiring about a trip package to Hawaii. After going over
all the cost info, he asked, "Would it be cheaper to fly to California
and then take the train to Hawaii?" The upside of this is that a
Senator was actually trying to save the goverment's money. Now,
that's a first.

I know our Lord walked on water, but a train on water? -- hardly!
The four Gospels include many miracles of our Lord. Their
purpose was to prove the divinity of Christ and in many cases to
alleviate the suffering of individuals.

We can all be used by this same Christ to help alleviate the
suffering of others. He provided the example, now we need to
follow that example. In a few weeks, our second youngest
granddaughter will graduate from Nursing School at Liberty
University with her R.N. degree. We are grateful that she has the
compassionate heart of Christ and will use her skills to alleviate the
suffering of many during her career. Because of her love for Christ
and others, she'll make an outstanding nurse. Are we proud? --
Guess.

We aren't all nurses in the medical sense, but we can be nurses in
the compassionate sense. Isaiah 30:18 (nlt): "But the LORD still
waits for you to come to Him so he can show you His love and
compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those
who wait for Him to help them." Also, may others in need be
blessed by the compassion we show to them as they wait for us to
help them in the name of Christ.
