If you're living in, your own little world
with no outlook on life at all
Only existing by hopes on a string
least make them strong so you won't fall

I once wore a long noose of loneliness
around my neck and I did wear it well
Day in and day out, oppressed and depressed
so much til it was too hard to tell

There were times I yielded into it's bait
I played that tune on every route
Wouldn't even attempt to find a solution
didn't have any care of coming out

My days were spent in idle moments
I watched the sun come up and go down
The hours went by without a trace of remembrance
it was like an echo without any sound

I remember telling God how lonely I was
and that I needed someone to love me
For, it was a area in my life, that was empty
parts of me did need to be free

Then something happened that I did not know
in how your feelings can turn on you
For I left room for the devil to set me up
with much harder things to get me through

Now even though, God was there
and felt my loneliness too
I had to be taught how to be careful what I say
because of all the damage it can do

Did you know your spirit can be an open door
giving access for things to enter in
That's why you have to always cry out to God
to help bring the loneliness to an end

He will not go against your flesh
when your thoughts are not centered right
For it's desire is, to ask for wrong things
but look out, if we don't ask for insight

So I had to go through that period of time
after seeking to entertain the flesh
But boy, did I have to pray, day after day
for it had put me in a mess

Loneliness is a dangerous place to be
it will bring you a lot of trouble
Not saying sometimes we will have our lows
but tell me who wants to see them double

Later on I was showed I had a purpose in life
and I could make it full each day
When, I took time to look all around
ways to give of myself in some way

There were organizations that had need of mentors
the homeless needed shelter, from the rain
Children living in solitude, without any hope
needing concern of their hopes to regain

There are so many things this world can use
but, the most important is love
So how can anyone just stay lonely
when God has given us gifts from above

That's why this world is too big to be lonely
when there is so much to do
And even though one person can't cover it all
but just use what you have in you
