We all have a Personal Trainer, someone who encourages us to lift the weights of our calling. We start out with lighter weights, and as we progress in endurance and strength, the bar moves up a notch or two or......Sometimes our Trainer tells us to take it easy, that our enthusiasm may burn us out, reminding us of the long haul. Other times He reminds us to just show up and He'll help with the rest - sometimes adjusting the weights for us and sometimes getting out the pom poms.

Sometimes between lift days, He reminds us to dance, which is a worshipful exercise that causes the circulation of well being to ourself and our surroundings. And on those Sabbath days, He reminds us that rest days are really when the muscles are being built up - days where mist falls on us instead of rain and nourishes us gently.

Every once in a while, he'll show us the progress, not in the amount of weight lifted, but in the fact that we need to be re-fitted. There is a mysterious looseness in the armour. Muscle has become dense in places it was formerly flabby (spiritually), leaving more room to breath and a new overall change in movement.

And sometimes He takes us out of our set routine and changes things around for fun with lessons on flexibility. Other times our Personal Trainer reminds us to eat better and slower. Like a giraffe that constantly chews on the same leave over and over, I am reminded that I could linger a little longer on certain insights; going further in understanding and revelation. I like having a Personal Trainer. It beats lifting weights all by myself.
