In the gladdened burst of sunshine
In the parlor of divine delights
We've wandered through His presence
Hand in hand through days and nights.
We've shared His endless beauty
In the dewy light of morn
And we've waited in the dark
For new hope to be born.
We've plundered night of all
Its far flung treasured jewels
And gathered crystal memories
Where tranquile glory rules.
Of such bright, living
Revelations in the dawn
We've feasted, where the silent feet
In tender paths have gone.
And turning a sudden corner
In the garden of the Lord,
New vistas all our senses
With wordless speech have awed.
And somehow in the meadows,
Where the hyacinths bend the dew,
Our hearts have likewise melded,
Till one is made from two.
And though sometimes the way
has grown unclear and strange,
We know that even there, in utter depths,
We are but in His range.
And somehow when it's over
We'll know the path we trod
Was but the garden way,
The way that leads to God.
