THAT FINAL JOURNEY

No matter who you are, you will not be able to avoid taking this journey. You may have accumulated great wealth, or have lofty ambitions that are not fulfilled. These will not exempt you from the trip. Your passage is already booked and a one way ticket has been arranged.

You will be allowed to take only one suitcase, so pack it carefully. There will be no room for anger or bitterness. Leave out hatred and resentment, for they will not assist you. Take along sympathy but leave behind remorse and regret. Cram in as many garments of love as you can. You will need these for an eternity. It won’t hurt to have a few extras. There may be someone with whom you need to share. Bring all the joy your bag will hold, but dump remorse and regret in the nearest garbage can.

Be patient as you travel. You may feel anxious to reach the end. It will be worth the wait. There will be no confusion when you arrive. No lost luggage or mix ups with reservations. For you’ve had the best travel agent. Jesus has gone before you and prepared a room at home with the Heavenly Father.
