A Butterfly’s Journey
Have you ever watched a butterfly?
As it soared, freely, through the sky
Oh how beautiful, it may have looked that day
but that butterfly didn’t always look that way
For one day, not so long ago
That butterfly had to crawl, to and fro
Slowly on it’s belly, all alone
Not ever sure, it would make it home
Never sure, where it needed to be
Uncertain of it’s final destiny
But it pressed on day, after day
Even when obstacles, got in it’s way
Even when people, knocked it around
And the world, came tumbling down
On it went, not certain where
All it had was it’s daily prayer
Sometimes storms, came to steal his plans
Sometimes his life, wound up in man’s hands
But that butterfly would cry, for Peace
And all of his storms, would somehow cease
but that didn’t end, his journey of pain
That caterpillar needed a change
So one day he cried out, in his loudest voice
He took his life back, and made a choice
Someone heard his cry, and wrapped him tight
Covered in Love, this was just right
Protected, as old things were passed away
A Warm cocoon is where he lay
As he was changed into all he was made to be
After giving his life, he was set free
But now he was different, from before
He didn’t have to struggle anymore
He had help, from a higher power
He had comfort, in the midnight hour
He had Joy, in the place of pain
He had a shelter, when there was rain
that butterfly was changed, now he had wings
But he had an ever better thing
He had Hope, for a now, his destiny was clear
He had God, and nothing to fear

Sorry, but I (repectfully) beg to differ. Can't you here the music? Read THROUGH the poem rather than reading INTO the poem. Quite pleasing. Clear message, beautifully expressed. I like it!
Rating is for the content. This is a fine piece of prose put down as poetry. There is a certain aspect of inspiration and insight in prose too, and that alone could make a poem if it wasn't so obviously written as prose (and nothing wrong with that! I'd give it a 5 in that format).
