"Lord You know I’m scared of bugs.
Did it have to be a wasp?"
You must’ve been looking down from heaven,
Laughing with a Fatherly Love,
As You listened to me command the wasp,
"In the name of Jesus, fly onto that window,"
So that I could capture it and let it outside.
And then you looked down with sympathy
as the wasp flew up to our nine foot ceilings
and proceeded to preen itself.
Then as the evil one came and said,
“See how little faith she has,
when You don’t respond immediately to her cry”
So to him, You commanded, “Be quiet!”
And to me, You said, “Be patient.”
So I went about my other chores,
Keeping a careful watch on that painful bug,
Talking to God, and telling Him,
“I shall try to be patient”.
After what seemed like hours and
the wasp's continual exploring of the rest of our house,
The wasp flew to exactly the window and the spot
that I had requested and waited there for me,
Till I returned with my bug catcher,
And safely captured it.
I reassured the bug that we would
both be happier with it outside.
Then with Loving words, You reminded me
of the words of wisdom that I had given to
two of my children earlier that morning.
I had told each of them on separate occasions
“Good things come to those that wait”
“Bad things come to those that are impatient”

Thank you Lord for having a sense of humor, an abundance of patience and of Love, and a willingness to teach me all the things I need to know
