DO NOT FEAR, LITTLE FLOCK

...Do no fear, little flock,
for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom...

Luke 12:32

Isn’t it just like the love of God, Jesus’ love for us, to mix instruction with encouragement. Warning after warning has fallen from Jesus’ lips to the crowd and to His followers. By now, I imagine many among them were becoming discouraged. Not because of their focus on externals. But because their hearts were like tender shoots, desiring to hear the Lord and be obedient to Him. True seekers after God’s heart, Jesus’ words fell upon their openness. And their hunger showed them their own inadequacies.

It puts me in mind of Isaiah’s words ... and a bruised reed He will not break. Though those words spoke specifically of the Messiah, their truth remains truth. We see it here, in operation, as a soothing balm of reassurance. God is not a God to withhold blessings. His love gives, pours out, and offers His kingdom – freely.

Can’t you hear the tenderness living in Jesus. Do not fear...little flock...

His words fall like an embrace, easing anxiety, stilling churning waters of the soul, assuring them of belonging. I love it! I love how God loves us. Never taking His eyes off our hearts.

And I love it too! Is't it just like our Daddy God.

"... and a bruised reed He will not break." Those Words sink into the depths of a once-so-bruised heart and spirit and I cannot help but to feel an overwhelming sense of joy and peace. Yes, His love is quite amazing. It never fails us... and it never fails to amaze me. How you have blessed me this evening!!!
