Lord I tried to stand by myself
too late, I call to You for help
alone against temptation I fall
From on my knees, to You I call
Jesus, forgive me for being weak
and allowing the enemy to sneak
behind my defense, my faith in you
I fell prey to sin before I knew
My Shepard, as a lost sheep I cry
bring me back from where dangers lie
return me, Lord, back to your fold
release me, again, from death's hold
I repent to You with a broken heart
I will call on You from the start
When satan comes to tempt me again
I will rebuke him, in Your Holy Name!

Ah... how unfortunate that we must all suffer the same thing on occasion. I think it is part of the process of learning to rely on Him completely to be the Lord over everything in our lives, for our salvation, for our strength in faith, for mercy and deliverance, etc... for He alone is worthy and able. He called us "warriors." Even warriors fall short of His glory. But warriors get up after they fall down. I'm glad to see the crying out for forgiveness, for mercy, and for help in standing. He is not only able to lift us up, but He is willing to do so when we cry out to Him. Be blessed as He shows you how to put to death another part of your flesh and takes you to another phase of glory... simply because He loves you with an everlasting love and has mercy on you with ever-enduring mercy.
