Only in America do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to
the back of the store for prescriptions while healthy people can buy
cigarettes at the front counter. That's crazy.

I heard from one of my teenage readers who was celebrating her
first anniversary as a Christian. Her comment was:
WHOOHOO!!! She was excited and exhuberant about her faith.
By the way, how is your excitement about your faith in Christ
doing? Can you still say, "Whoohoo!!! I'm a believer!" Maybe
we aren't as demonstrative as a teenager, but we should still have
some excitement about our faith in God through Christ.

It's perfectly normal that our enthusiasm for anything news wears
off a bit in time. One exception is my motorized scooter -- I'm still
high as a kite about that, but newness does wear off -- we just need
to make sure that it doesn't wear out. I gave my allegiance to
Christ at age 12. Now that I'm ??, I'm still flabbergasted that God
loved me enough to let Jesus die for me.

In Rev. 2:4, John records this message to the Ephesus church, "But
I have this complaint against you. You don't love me or each other
as you first did." Not loving each other as we once did is directly
related to and a result of not loving our Lord as vigorously as we
once did. Whatever it takes, we need to rekindle our love for
Christ.
