The things my life consists of
Than mean so much to me
Will not be here much longer
No earthly thing will be

Violently I hold on
To things that come and go
Instead of finding comfort
Within the God I know

Yet I just keep clinging
To things I hold as dear
Begging God to promise
To always keep them near

The earth is temporary
And all that spins within
No promise of forever
For all good things must end

God speaks peace unto me
Reminding me what’s real
I can’t take things to heaven
But I can take what I feel

The things of most importance
All the love I have inside
The secrets that my heart knows
My soul, where dreams reside

The only things that matter
Are things that change the heart
Many changes I’ll take with me
To my heavenly new start
