God plucks a petal daily from the flower each life brings
Many petals have grown withered thirsting for the little things
Gentle whispers, soft caresses, a tender kiss from lips that sing
Human hearts grow cold and empty without the warmth of little things
Hearts too weak to hold one problem and the heaviness it brings
Open up and find the strength to carry countless little things
Words like ointment, softly spoken, into open wounds that sting
Can bring healing beyond measure; words are wondrous little things
How our children cry out for us in the darkness this world brings
Oh Lord guide us in the handling of your precious Little Things
