There is a time to listen
And there is a time to speak
Those who listen more
Receive the friendships that they seek

Listen without judging
It’s amazing what you’ll learn
You’ll hear the Holy Spirit
As he helps your soul discern

Listen very closely
Meaning rests behind each word
Listen for the heart felt cry
Perhaps no one has heard

Listen without thinking
Of the next word you will say
You were called of God
To make a difference on this day

So listen with your inner heart
To needful souls around
It may enable them to hear
The Lord’s last trumpet sound
