You cannot wash your hands of Jesus
He won’t be rinsed off of your skin
To refuse him simply means
That you will die within your sin

Pontius Pilate, in the Bible
Tried to wash his conscience clean
In reality, he couldn’t
God knows all that goes unseen

You may deny him, or forget him
Insist you don’t want him around
That doesn’t change the fact that Jesus
Wore for you a thorny crown

As he asked God to forgive you
The shame of sin upon his face
Crimson streams of blood escaped him
As his hands were nailed in place

His precious blood was flowing freely
As it flows for you today
If you accept it for atonement
All your sins will wash away

But don’t wash your hands of Jesus
That none perish is his goal
If you decide to live without him
You are forfeiting your soul
