I am in His house
Though not on bended knee
Nothing seems to rouse
The soul that sleeps in me
Holy ground I feel
It burns beneath my feet
I know He is real
Yet, backwards I retreat
Pastor does his best
To wake me up inside
But life's lull-a-bye
Sings softly to my pride
It should be enough
To feel His presence here
Diamond in the rough
When will my shine appear?
To accept His grace
Would mean my giving in
Can I stand and face
The One who forgives sin?
I am in His house
Lord, help me bend my knee
I pray not to douse
The fire that sets me free
