A movement within

I close my eyes and imagine his tiny face

I trace unseen hands and feet across my skin

My finger longs to feel the curl of his warm little fist

A gentle flutter brings a smile

What is he doing there? I wonder

A tiny heart so filled with love

Beating out a message that will save the world

Can he hear my voice?

I sing a lullaby to the small, sweet ears of a listening babe

I feel the gentle pressure as he stretches out his tiny arms

One day he will stretch them out for me

As the sin of the world rests upon his innocent shoulders

I long for the day I will hold you peacefully in my arms

And can look into your trusting eyes

But for now I will hold you within

Safe and sound

And let your warmth comfort me
