I remember the day
When you whispered my name
Your shoulders weighed down
With your burden of shame

Your head hung down low
As your eyes brimmed with tears
At my feet you let go
Of pain harbored for years

Your heart was so cluttered
With sorrow and sin
Still, as I stood knocking
You beckoned me in

Your burden soon lifted
You walked upon air
The gift of forgiveness
I offered you there

I remember your eyes
Flaming bright like the sun
Your praise-laden tongue
Longed to tell everyone

A chorus of angels
Sang out with one voice
When a lost child comes home
All the heavens rejoice

Share the gift you received
On your day of rebirth
Humbly offer forgiveness
To all on this earth
