Several years ago a friend & I were hunting in the deep woods in the early morn. The sun had not yet crested the horizon so it was still a dark velvet gray in the trees.
I was sitting in my stand when a deer came down the trail, I tensed as anticipation and adrenaline shot through my body like a bolt of electricity. I began Lemmaz breathing to relax myself as I drew the bow back. The cold strings lightly brushed my face as I placed the 15yd pin on my unsuspecting foe. I had waited a lifetime for this moment. I held my breath, my muscles were like steel bands coiled and ready to unleash certain death. I closed one eye and placed the arrow on the heart of my succulent steak dinner. An uneasiness crept over me as I noticed the deer peering up at me, sniffing the air with cat like curiosity.
The massive Buck sensed I was there yet could not see me due to my stealth like assassins camouflage. I opened my other eye, moved my face away from the bow like a trained sniper,
and looked very hard at my young table setting. Our eyes locked, neither one of us budged. I slowly released the tension on the bow and let the arrow rest between my fingers. I reached into my pocket to find anything spherical and hard, good for throwing, and launched a quarter at the big brown farm dog who had just ruined my morning hunt and almost ended up as a small white Cross in the backyard of a broken-hearted little girl........and a dinner setting in a Chinese Restaurant
