God has set us a little lower
than His Angels.
Gave them charge over us.
Laid the world at our fingertips,
Created for us His children, a playground
to fulfill ourselves in Him.
Gave His Son to redeem us.

A world where the greatest joys come
from the smallest matters.

What is better than the smell of settling dust
from a summers day rain?
Early morning smells of bread cooking
in mothers kitchen.
The odor of fresh cut grass drifting in
the evening breeze.
Red buds blooming in the spring with
Honey suckles mixing in their scent.
the moment when you breathe the odor
of your first born child.

Swaying in a hammock waiting upon
a gentle whisper from God.
The laughter of children romping in
the evening shade.
The first cry of my daughter playing
like a orchestra in my ear.
The first “I love you” whispered
against my chest.
The voice of the wind singing
in tall pines.
The last good nights bouncing off walls
echoing through the rooms.

The first of a thousand hugs I gave
my children.
The first nervous kiss at a high
school dance.
A laugh shared between best friends.
The last I love you whispered
by my mother.
The first time I bowed before my God.
The last prayer that I whispered back to Him.
The first time we met.

Is there one who is not blessed.
Who does not see God gave his best.
Not treasures which surrounds the Kings.
But pleasures in the smallest things.
