Moments

There are days where I feel twisted and caught up in a thunderstorm.
My eyes sting and my heart pounds.
I begin to wonder if I'll ever get out.
My skin wrinkles from the wet drops upon my fingertips.
In this intense moment--this moment of turmoil--everything becomes clear.
I realize that there will not always be sunny days, but that there will always be a rainbow peering through the clouds.
Moments of hope.
Moments of wonder and moments of frustration.
Moments of misunderstanding and intensity.
Moments of clarity and haziness.
Moments where I'm lost in the words and begin to wonder how
I'll make it to the next sound or to the next moment.
But then I turn around and see that you've stopped the rain for now and have given me a rainbow--peering through the clouds. The sun's rays shimmer like diamonds upon the water's edge and I am reminded that even though everything else
around me changes, you remain forever constant.
That's the moment I long for--moments--moments of You.
