The devil was talking, but God was walking
coming all through the misty gray
The challenge was on, not knowing how long
but believing I will have my day

When I looked at the picture of my situation
bills crashing in just like wall street
No stocks to up, oh how empty my cup
just suffering all through the heat

But I found comfort, while in the storm
for Job's words ccame to my mind
When he held onto his integrity
and those words were right on time

God's word is a comfort through any storm
it is a light unto one's way
It gives us strength to endure each test
and we can live by it each day

From the going down, and rising of the sun
his truths shall lead and direct
No waters will overcome, no fires will burn
for we are God's chosen and elect

Though valley's run deep and hills may crumble
and though the rivers may swell
We can say to our soul, his word is comfort
and we say, that all is well

We can trust in God all the way
even if the heat is turned up
We can count it all joy, to be his servant
and wait until he fills our cup

His time is never, like my time
for I think he should come when I say
What patience did I learn if this be so
if I don't let him choose the day

Many lessons can be learned while in a test
and it doesn't come over night
but after being tried, then we will know
if answer we seek be right

God is in the midst of all our troubles
working in working out all around
And we do have his word to rest upon
that will keep our faith aground

Even through the valley's of oppression
through the mountains of despair
we have to be still, O' precious souls
for God did promise he'll be there

The Lord is our shield and a buckler
and our bow and arrow by day
He will preserve our souls all way through
a Shepard that knows the way

When we try to weave through the weeds
then the briars get in our way
To try to trip us up again
doing it's best to dampen each day

But our problems are not in their hands
our troubles thay can't control
For we have the solution for all of them
and in God's hands each one he holds
