Mom You Have Character

A mom is informal for mother, short for momma in baby talk, not momus, one who finds fault; a critic of petty details or Momus, the god of blame and ridicule, but a woman of character, one with qualities or features that distinguishes her as the mother of her family from another. A mother is of the female origin that has bore children or offspring, adopted a child or otherwise established a maternal relationship with another person. A mother has been given the tedious task of having stewardship over the offspring produced or acquired. Children are God’s most precious jewels in the earth, his heritage and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

In the beginning God made man and woman and gave them the charge to have dominion and reproduce in the earth. Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it, he said in Genesis 1:28. With this also came the responsibility of mom to help train the children up and teach them the ways of God.

For so long our priorities has been misplaced. We are wandering farther away from not only marriage and the children, but God also. Never has things been so lopsided in life as it is now. Our dads are out of order, our moms are out of order and thereby the children are raging mad. When we find our way back to God and get our priorities in order, then and only then can we be characterized as moms that we have been called to be. The moms and dads forbid to marry now, so there is no obeisance of mom to dad and the children has no direction or leaders in that area and they grow to live the same things.

When moms are not married to dads they usually live promiscuous lives and the children lose respect for them because of the things done in front of them, while mom is trying to get her flesh satisfied, rather than think about the flesh that she has delivered upon the earth. We do not consider that our actions carry consequences, not only to us, but to our children also. How we live in front of them may have a very long-term effect on them, which cause them to disrespect mom, cuss her out or even hit her sometime. This is not a part of the training that God is requiring. Our mismanagement in the area of motherhood will stop us at the gates of Heaven. We are supposed to be leaders of righteousness, to love tough and not to be an enabler. God is requiring at our hand, an account of our stewardship.

Moms don’t want to be an enabler, one that supply with the means, knowledge, or opportunity to be or do something to their kids to do wrong. Sometime we permit our children to do too many things that are not characteristic of a child’s behavior. We have to be firm in what we say, do and live from the beginning. Children are born today with a dare in them that even, parents sometime are afraid of. Children will challenge your authority at age one. While many parents laugh at their doings, it is not funny at all. Children can be taught and chastised at a very early age now. This is a new generation. I will call them Generation XYZ. I sometime kid around that they have been here on earth before and has returned as a new person because of their profound knowledge of the world around them at birth.

Mom, you don’t want to be your children’s friend, but their mother. Teach them and not them teach you which way they are to go. Be open for comments, concerns, and cares, listen to what they say and fill in what they don’t say, but stay in control. You maintain the God given ability to instruct and lead. However with the growing number of babies becoming moms so early now, we have to wonder where the ability lie to fulfill God’s purpose for the children being born to the underage. We have so many unlearned young mothers, babies themselves, slothful, full of pride, not concerned with taking instructions. Somewhere, somehow, we as mothers has taken down and allowed things to overtake our control and reason to be moms. Moms in this time; has had their character torn down by the laws of the land governing our raising of our children. Except we return to following God and teach these children the things God has charged you to do in your life, your life will be one of the law and children do not care any thing about obeying you or the laws.

God ponders our goings. Because of the fact that mom don’t truly realize their true potential, they are punished for the sin of omission (to neglect to do) as well as commission (committing or carrying out the sin). So many moms do not take serious the task that has been put before them. We must give an account for all of our deeds in the earth, including being that mom of character that God have called us to be.

He wants you to be who you are. You must first respect the fact that you are what he has made you to be and what he has made you to be. When you respect who you are, God respects and hear you when you pray. He only knows and recognizes you as the person he made you to be. Luke 16:15 and he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. We do not seek to please men but God. In our pleasing of men, we go so far away from God. We do whatever it takes to satisfy them and what they want, which is hardly ever enough. The more we do, the more that they want us to do to fulfill the fantasies of their minds. They persuade us that there is nothing unclean in and of itself, but to them that esteem anything unclean, it’s unclean. Man is never satisfied, but mom our respect level can hit ground zero instantly. Philippians 2:3, let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. We have to demand the respect that is due us by how we live our lives before our mates and children.

We have to also be consistent in what ever we do, not speaking flattery, but to keep evil away from our tongue and our heart. We also have to stay delivered from the way of the evil man that speaks forward things. I exhort you mom to speak only those things that become holiness and perfect them. Life is not the game that it is taken to be, be consistent in what you say and do. Let what you say harmonize with what you do accordingly. Don’t be so unpredictable, but predictable, undeviating, remaining steady, steadfast, unchanging, unswerving to the application at hand.

Some time we have to be daring, bold, or rash in our decisions, yet we as moms have to be the mean one. This is a character trait of being adventurous. The Bible in Hebrews 4:16 let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in time of need. We have to go to God to help us rear our children and do it with love and much grace, but firmly, consistent, and adventurous, daring to try the things God tell us for each child individually, for no two is alike. We need God to help us so that we can help our children. Today a child will dare his mother, beat her, steal from her and even kill her if it becomes necessary. This mother has stepped down from being mom a long time ago. She lost her reign. When a mother seeks God for directions, she doesn’t mind seeking God for her children. She don’t mind asking God for favor for them when they are obedient. Well the same is true with God, he will move for you when you can come boldly before him in honesty and truth, willingly and obedient.

Everything we do while we yet live, rather we obey or disobey God’s will, whosoever, we are going to give an account for it. You see God said we are accountable or responsible for what is required of us to answer. Mom need to be accountable righteously, so that she may give account for her stewardship over those children and not grudgingly, but joyfully. When Jesus spoke to the unrighteous steward in St. Luke 16:2, he told him that he could no longer be a steward because he could not give an account of what was required of him at that time. Some of us are losing stewardship over our children, rather they are taken away by the State Government, by death, or by the streets, because we have given up on them and seek to either please our own selves or we lost them when they were young. Romans 14:12 tells us then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God. How many of us can have peace when our children grow up and get in trouble. When you know that you have done everything required of you by God to be mom, you are at peace, although trouble is at hand. Since they are adults now, you are not responsible for their actions and need not feel guilty for anything. But continue to love them, give them that one chance to get it right, help them but don’t enable them to use you or make you feel like you are the responsible one. If you did not put them out there to get in trouble, mom, you are not at fault.

This is where our graciousness is or could be misused. Our children will use our love and kindness as weakness to manipulate us into believing that they have not done anything and everybody else is wrong. Here is the time for you to step up your courteous, polite, warm hearted, cordial, merciful, elegant, luxurious, benevolent, self up and be tactful toward them and let them know that they are not in control and you will not be weak to their games and their sin. A mom with character will make them face their responsibility and not let them shove it somewhere else. You will only hurt your child when you enable them to continue in their mess and use you as a pawn card to get them out of it. God is a God full of compassion and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth and you, mom was made after the image of God with like passions, but God also chastise us when we disobey. God tells us to forebear one another and forgive, love in the bond of peace, and let the peace of God rule in your heart to be perfected. God will help you to be gracious making yourself available to your children when need be.

Our faith, which works by our love, makes us moms to carry an available trait. This is perceived in our character while we yet carry our children in our womb. We learn to carry them because they are carried all of the first nine months after conception and at least six to twelve months after they are born. How characteristic is it mom for us to try and yet carry our children when they are grown up adults. This is where we need to apply some knees to the floor; that is going down in prayer for them. We need to bless them throughout their lives, but when they are gone it yet require that we pray for them and plead the blood of Jesus over their lives. Be who you are in Christ and apply what you need to have the victory in your life and in each one of your children’s lives.

Now mom, lets deal with the true you and your true feelings. I am not saying that you cannot be humorous sometime, being amusing, having the ability to perceive or express humor or take a joke, but be firm. Ecclesiastes 3:4 tells us it is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. There is a time for laughter and humor in the family. The time is not when it’s time to chastise your child, as to play with them. No, you remain in control don’t let you joy be turned into heaviness. You must be flexible, in that you are able to bend without breaking, be adaptable to the situation at hand and be able to stretch your wit to take your child to the next level of understanding concerning the situation. Make him understand that although the joke was humorous, it required some correction. You need a hard hand to correct sometime and it may even make you weep in secret, but do what you have to do so that you don’t suffer correction of your child to someone else later on in life. Even in the midst of scolding sometimes we have to yet be encouraging, so as to give them courage to take chastisement and apply it for good, have the confidence to change what was wrong, and reassure them that they should not do the thing again. If we don’t inspire our children and support them in the right way they will seek it elsewhere and we will lose them to God knows whoever out there that Satan has waiting. He seeks to steal, kill and destroy our children, but possessing the right character, being compassionate enough to be sympathetic to the needs of our children will keep us in tune with God and ahead of Satan’s attacks. When we are not confident, showing and feeling self assuredness, being courageous, secure, sure, certain, assured, positive, convinced, trusting, and satisfied with who we are, deal with our own emotional problems, and face your true feelings, we can be no earthly good to any one else, less alone our children who suffers our neglect. We have to always remember that Jesus, that begun a good work in you mom, he will continue it until he comes. No matter what pain, how sensitive, loving and affectionate you are, your tenderness has to require tact or careful handling.

A diplomatic mom, always stand for what she believes in. She is tactful, has a keen sense of the right thing to say or do in dealing with people or situations. Matthew 23:3 all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe, and do; but do not ye after their works for they say and do not. Mom, always do the right things and right will follow you, even with your children. Handle even your controversies in a diplomatic way as to teach your children that no mom that speak by the spirit of God curses and they will understand that Jesus rules first in your heart. Exodus 4:12 now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shall say. He will in that exact hour, will give you what to say and it will be seasoned with wisdom. He will also allow you to be strong and of a good courage when you speak what he wants you to. Mom in correction, in love, and in peace you don’t have to take down if, you are led by the spirit of God, just be right. God wants us to be courageous in our observance of his commandments, he doesn’t want us to turn to the left or to the right, but prosper in what we believe. Be fair in our dealings, as God don’t want us to be a the fair woman without discretion in Proverbs 11:22, a jewel of gold in the swine’s snout, but just, unbiased, equitable, in accordance with the rules, fair minded, unprejudiced and objective. Don’t carry things around in your heart and expect to speak fair in a matter. Moms when we do things unfairly, not only do we reap those things, but it may cause death to come upon us, naturally and spiritually. The just shall live by faith, but if you are unjust and unfair you want live a long life, as your faith want take you far. Stand for what you believe, but be fair in your doing and goings; be honest in your dealings, free of deceit and untruthfulness, blameless and trustworthy. Just be straight. It is all right if people mistreat you, you don’t have to mistreat them back. Do not give out evil for evil and if by any means necessary try to be peaceful. Prove things to be honest in the sight of all men and mom, you put on the Lord Jesus Christ and provide not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts therein. Don’t let your good be evil spoken of for they that bring this evil against you, shall surely reap it in due time. Stand for what you believe, be punctual, observe all the appointed times given you, be prompt, timely and on target. Set an example for the whole world as well as your children through keeping in time with what is expected of you.

Moms plan your life beginning with motherhood. Most times in our lives, motherhood is not planned. It comes up unexpectedly and we are not prepared to be a mom. Therefore we consider our lives to be shipwrecked and we wreck the life of the child we bring forth. Because we weren’t constructive, forming a basis for the idea of pregnancy acquiring the help we need to be a well-rounded parent and having a positive attitude towards motherhood we have a fear about it and can acquire no satisfaction in life towards it. We blame whomever we can for our indiscretions and most time go through life not experiencing constructiveness because we feel we lost it before we were able to possess forming our future in our minds. We sometime lose our will to be innovative, don’t use new methods, but find ourselves doing the same things that got us into the rut we’re in already. We don’t break into new ground but wallow where we are, we have no new ideas, we refuse to be a pioneer and blaze a new trail, make the alterations necessary to modernize, remodel or invent new things in our lives to make it better for us and our children. Proverbs 8:12, I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions. We have to seek out ways of wisdom to make our lives different for us as well as our children. We have to be proactive, take the initiative to help ourselves. Sometime you have to cry, weep as you may, but you will reap in joy. Be creative, be inventive, imaginative, able to create as God created the world, he spoke let there be and it was done so. Recover from your setbacks, be resilient, bounce back and show your flexibility. Mom you have to be originative and artistic, an original in your own life, in what will make you resourceful. Get up and recover your strength before your life will be taken with stressed out situations. Only will happen in your life that you make happen. Only things will change for you when you get tired and make the change. What you accept in life will control your mind, will and your every emotion if you allow it mom.

Be informed on economic issues concerning you and your home. Be resourceful, prosperous, reserves, available, having assets, collective wealth, taking the initiative, ingenuity, talents, imaginations and aptitude. III John 2 beloved above all things I wish that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prosper. God desire that you have mom all that you need and want, for he said he would give you the desires of you heart if you delight yourself in him. It is up to you. You have not because maybe you never asked, or maybe there is covered sin and this will surely cause you not to prosper as you should but if you confess them and forsake them God will surely have mercy and prosper you with the resources you are in need of. We know that there is a time to prosper, a time to have and a time to be without, but God do not leave you in that situation if you learn to obey his whole word. Be practical, be real, stop speculating that things will change without you first making a change to function well and be concerned with what is actually possible. Be inclined to action not theory. We have not been set free to use our liberty as a cloak for sin but to serve one another. This is practical because God uses people to bless us, not dirt on the ground or the moon in the sky just drop it out, just like we know that the law is good if we use it right in righteousness. We must be effective in our righteousness. That is we must have a definite or desired effect, actual impressive, existing, operative, capable, useful, competent, outstanding, striking and powerful witness in our life where others may be effect change in their lives. We have to make the difference from what the world dictates to it’s own. If you cannot effect change in someone else with your life, Galatians 5:4 Christ have become of none effect unto you whosoever of you, are justified by the law, you are fallen from grace. Mom think about Christ first whenever you go to do something, how will this affect someone else from walking toward Christ. We are important witnesses in the earth. We are moms of character and we play an important role in bringing about an effective positive work of power as given to me by grace through Jesus Christ. We cannot be thrifty and hold this knowledge God has given us. It’s not important for us to be closed fisted with it, but prudent, careful, not sparing any rod of correction to anyone, not stingy in sharing the gospel, penny pinch yes, that you may obtain wealth and live cheap, but have what you need for survival. It’s no need to keep up with the Joneses. They may be millionaires and you live off of $20,000 per year with three children. Be realistic and show forth some thankfulness for what you have and don’t overextend your self, which will only cause you sure misery.

Be thankful for your being and what you have accomplished in life through righteousness. Mom of character is appreciative; they esteem God high and are grateful for what he has blessed them with. They thank him in the morning, the noonday and all the nightlong. His praise is forever on their tongues. They press to a higher calling of praise. They are not wise in their own conceits, but condescend to men of low estate. A mom of character don’t lift herself up and put others down, but build up her children, other children and people alike. Though she live on the earth and her thoughts are earthy, her ways can still please God. A higher praise will change her earthly ways to heavenly ways and her thoughts heavenly thoughts.
Her song will change to glory to God in the highest and her life will be about peace toward all men. She is a contented mom, she has a contented family, and everyone around her will call her blessed. She is satisfied, adequately happy, willing, pleased, delighted, gratified, glad, cheerful, comfortable, and fulfilled. Her life is not about herself, but it’s all about God and who he is in her life, how she may serve him and please him. She cries out as one in the wilderness, prepare you the way of the Lord and make his path straight. She is as Philippians 4:11 says, not that I speak in respect of want, for I have learned in whatever state I am, therewith to be content. Her soul cries to be satisfied with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips. A mom of character knows that godliness with contentment is great gain for any one that calls upon the name of the Lord because he will fill your basket with what it is that you need. God has promised her that he will never leave her nor forsake her so she boasts of God, of good things not coveting anyone else’s goods, but is content with what God has blessed her with.

I 100% agree with what you have written. Women have the highest calling there is, and that is to be a KEEPER at HOME. It is not a put down, but a blessing to be a wife and a mother. I pray more women are being enlightened to this calling. p.s....article is a little long...but still good.
