Ode to Joy….

Its Sunday again lord and here I am.
Once again I am amazed at your joy that falls upon me like summer rain.
How do I live moment to moment?
How do I go about my daily life without this wonder?
Each and every time you fill me with it I am overawed.
The joy that floods my soul and heats my blood.
It starts off slow and builds up like a wave.
Filling me, flooding me, flowing through me.
It surges through me like the blood in my veins.
The wonder of it.
Little bubbles of joy that simmer and surge and pop within me.
How can I describe to one who hasn’t tasted the wonder of it.
Every time it comes I vow to do all I can to keep it.
And everytime I let it pass away.
If only I could learn the lessons that it brings.
When I am filled to overflowing with its grip,
it feels like every cell within me is capable of love.
I am transformed by it,
I am consumed by it,
I am filled to overflowing with it.
If what I feel is only a millionth of your loving presence
Then what an amazing place heaven will be.
Lord help me to keep pressing into you,
and find the little tastes of heaven that your presence brings.
