For the Christian believer ...
one of two things is going to happen.
Either I am going to be conformed into the image of Jesus by allowing the word of God that is spoken in the presence of the lord to change me, or... Or i am going to conform Jesus into the image of what my heart dictates.
If i go to the mountain like Moses and meet with god, I change...
If i stay at the foot of the mountain like Aaron, gods image in me changes...
My big question for myself is this...
Is the Jesus i serve the One seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High, or is he a different Jesus, who has been shaped by the ways and desires of the society i live in. What is my image of Jesus?
These made me think and re look at myself and what i do and how i act and just what i see when i look at Jesus,
I want to see Jesus as he really is not in a comfortable package that i can accept...

I was reading a novel the other day ('Merlin' by Stephen Lawhead). At one part Merlin is talking and he says something like, "the world we see is not the world as it really is. We see the world how we wish it to be." Your aerticle reminded me of this, and you're right- it is a challenge to decide, and it comes down to choosing "who is God?"- is it me, and my perceptions of how things are, or is it God himself? Nice one mate.
