Lord let your angels camp around about
the children day by day
Please send them so to keep them safe
while they are out to play
Watch over the babies in their cribs
let them be over their beds
While they lay silent sleeping there
put your protection over their heads
Let your angels descend, all around
guide their feet wherever they go
Shield them from all hurt and danger
while they are down here below
Send your angel of mercy, to spare them
from the evil that lurks all around
Let them spread their wings to carry each one
when their hearts are torn and broken down
Let them whisper words of comfort
to give them a smile when they are sad
For life be hard for them also
and so what, if their somtimes bad
Lord let them touch their bodies
when at times they catch a little cold
Minister your healing to each and all
be the one their lives you hold
Lord this little prayer I offer up to you
for each home where children do abide
so many need your love, each day and night
now let your angels be by their side
