Script
Michael the amateur attempts to make some home improvements by adding an electrical outlet without the help of a professional. On stage he struggles while guessing which wires to connect. Attempting to bite the wires with his teeth he exposes the connection realizing he forgot to turn the fuse box off. Thinks out loud and says;
Michael: carelessly… "hmmm…..did I forget to turn off the fuse box?" Shrugs his shoulders and continues working…struggling all the while. "Well I guess I’d better check." Walks behind stage making lots of noise trying to get to the fuse box.
Matthew: Matthew enters looking at the mess on the floor. "What are you doing back there?"
Michael: "Oh, I thought it would be safer to shut the fuse box off to this outlet I’m installing." Proceeds to greet Matthew.
Matthew: "Michael, why didn’t you call me? I offered last week to give you a hand with this."
Michael: "Oh, I just figured you were busy, besides how hard can it be?"
Matthew: "You know Michael; electrical work can be quite dangerous and many times requires a professional."
Michael: "Ahh." Continues fussing with the wires. "Who has time for that? Just consider me a Jack of all Trades."
Matthew: "You know Michael, sometimes it’s not easy to admit we need help from other people. God didn’t create us to be Jacks of all Trades. He has given each of us special gifts and abilities to serve and to be served by others."
Michael: Making final adjustments, placing the outlet on the wall. "Lookie here. It’s all finished…now what were you saying about Jacks of all Trades." Michael smiles proudly as if to prove Matthew wrong.
Michael: "Now for the final test." Plugs in the lamp, light is still off. "Oh yes…I need to flip the switch on the fuse box." Proceeds behind stage making rattling noises and all of sudden a loud sizzling noise is heard. Michael returns with black smoke under the eyes and hair in a frizzed mess.
Matthew: "Are you okay?"
Michael: "I guess I could use a hand."
