Let Jesus Make You

Jeremiah 18:1-12

The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying,

Arise and go down to the potter’s house and there I will cause thee to hear my words

Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold; he wrought a work on the wheels.

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again another vessel, as seem good for the potter to make it.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? Said the Lord. Behold as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are e in mine hand, O house of Israel.

At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up and to pull down and to destroy it.

If that, nation, against whom I have pronounce, turn from there evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it.

If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

Now therefore go to speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, thus said the Lord; behold, I frame evil against you and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

And they said, there is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

You have to be positioned by God for him to do a work in you. We as the people of God need to wake up. We do ourselves an injustice to sleep concerning the things of God. We need to be anointed to do what we do and only God can anoint you for the work. We are the clay and Jesus is the potter. No man knows the way of God except by the spirit of God.


What you are, the world did not call you to it nor did they make you. God called you and he will mold you into that worthy vessel. He will make you into what he wants you to be and you can come voluntarily. You can go through pain, suffering, rejection and even being obstracized for him to get you there but your purpose will be fulfilled. Sometime it costs all this for the anointing he blesses you with.

Unless God make us, we will sleep through the revolution that’s going on in the world. Nobody else can do what God called you to do. Nobody can do it like you. Even when we are being crushed, he will bring you out of every rough spot. Rise up and serve him and be served. God’s grace is sufficient for you and all of your needs.

Sometime we get ruined or marred along the road of life. This is when we reply against God, asking God why did he ever make us? Sometime the things we go through with will make us strong or we fall weak through disobedience to the one that has made us. The Potter has power over the clay and he can make you smooth or as easy as you allow him to do in your life. He wants us to be vessels of honor. It’s not his will to show us his wrath and to make his power known that we be endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction. Why resist the will of the Lord for your life. Man’s limited understanding of the unlimited and sovereign God leads us to such a statement as to why God made me.

We in our own selves are no match for God. Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal. The Lord knows them that are his. And, let every one that name the name of Christ depart from iniquity. God has placed in a great house not only vessels of god and of silver, but also of wood and of earth, and some to honor, and some to dishonor. You have to purge yourself from sin to be sanctified thereby being meet for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work. God always intended for us to be a permanent church but we chose the way of the world.
