SURVIVING THE STORM

Have you ever found yourself driving in a rain storm? The sky gets dark, the wind blows, and you can hardly see what's in front of you. Sometimes the storm gets so bad that you have to pull over and wait the storm out, but other times, you can carefully maneuver your way right through the storm. When you drive out of the storm, you look in the rear view mirror, and you can see the dark clouds behind you. In front of you, all is clear and bright - there's nothing but blue skies.

With so much darkness behind you, the road ahead of you looks much better. Believe me, when you come through a storm, and look back to see it still raging behind you, you immediate feel blessed because you know Who brought you through your storm. There is absolutely no desire to turn around and head back into what you have just came through. Why would anyone do that? But, if we are not careful, that's exactly what could happen. They are what I call "familiar storms".

Paul says, Jesus "gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness" (Titus 2:13) - now, how can we drift back into the things He died to get us out of? Because of Jesus, you are able to drive out of the storm, out of the darkness, out of eternal danger. Don't go back there! Everything you were made for, everything you need is on the road ahead of you. Keep driving toward the Light of Christ. Whatever your storm may be, You are coming out -- The dark clouds will soon be a shadow in your rear view mirror, and your future forecast is Bright & Clear.
