BIG BROTHER BLUES


“Why do we have a baby?”
I asked my Mom one day.
“Do we really have to keep him?
Does he really have to stay?”

“Why yes we have to keep him,”
she answered rather shocked.
“One day you’ll feel quite different.
Now stop this silly talk.”

“But he cries too much
and always wants to play with what I had.
I don’t always like to share
and it makes me kind of mad.

“One day you’ll be glad,” she said.
“Just you wait and see.
You’ve always got a playmate.
One day you’ll be thanking me.”

Then my little brother began to cry
just like every other day.
So I shouted to my mom
as she began to walk away.

“It was really nice of you and Dad
to think of me like that!
But if you just wanted to make me happy,
You could’ve bought a cat!”
