We are living in the time, of crowd pleasers
only mans love they seek to find
The One Lord, One Faith, and Baptism
is no longer in the heart and mind

Now the gifts come without repentance
and they are free for all to use
And because God is not, an Indian giver
so his power he won't refuse

But he's calling the real prophets of his people
or anyone who wants to hear
For though many may rise, and it's no surprise
still his judgement is very near

Many are selling out for a piece of fame and glory
from the head, right to the door
And now anything goes, that comes and blows
but the true Gospel is cast overboard

I am not looking for mans acceptance
for he did not pay the bill
God's Son is the one who gave his life
so it's better to obey his will

Today, each and every is carrying a bible
more preachers than ever before
And will use the word, saying God called them
but are rejecting, the only door

It says when you try to climb up any other way
you are a thief the word does say
But again, so many are looking for fame
and try to get to heaven their way

They took the part where Mary went to the Tomb
and thought that it meant to preach
And God never said he couldn't use the women
so they do have right to teach

When I read about the Prophets of Old
as Jeremiah, who they did shut up
And when Daniel was put in the Lions den
by refusing at their table to sup

But although these men were put away
they did stay on the Lords side
And I wonder today who can really say
that I would rather obey God

How does God warn his people
of the false that does deceive
And when the Lord gives us a message
is our heart open to receive

One of the gifts God gave was discernment
to warn the church what's right
And so to keep from being fooled, by others
a promise from his word of light

Don't look to be liked for doing what God says
and many times I too want to run
But in knowing my God can be a terrible God
and in knowing this, it can't be fun
