How do we know, which way the wind may blow
for no one told us a day before
There was no sealed letter, or a telegram
it was no message shipped ashore

No answer was given when we did question it
for who can tell us, when or how
But what we can do is hold on to God
and pray hard that we don't bow

For rough winds blow to overthrow
us while we are going through
It has no mercy, these trials and test
but we know what, lies in me and you

This eternal peace that will bring relief
when the troubles seem hard to bear
and there is nothing, that is not known
for our God does know and care

So if he failed to come by on this day
just hold on again tommorrow
For he hasn't forgotten about me and you
and already bore the pain and sorrow
