Two Things You Can't Do in Heaven

There are two holy opportunities that end at the grave. You cannot share your faith in heaven. You cannot build treasure in heaven once you arrive. Both can only be done here.

Heaven will be filled with the redeemed. There will be no lost souls left to reach. The time to point someone to eternal life is now. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15 NASB). Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16 NASB). “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20 NASB).

Do not let fear silence you. Jesus warned, “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38 NASB). This life is your only chance to lead the lost to the same eternal life you have received.

The second thing you cannot do in heaven is store up treasure that will be waiting when you get there. Once you are home, the building time is over. Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21 NASB).

You build that treasure here: sharing your faith, prayer, giving, helping, comforting, serving, and loving in the name of Christ. “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17 NASB). “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me’” (Matthew 25:40 NASB).

Some will enter heaven with little to show. “If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire” (1 Corinthians 3:15 NASB). Saved—but empty-handed. That is not what Jesus died to give you.

Every time you humble yourself and point someone to Christ, you do both at once. You share the gospel, and you lay up treasure. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 NASB).

This is your only chance. Do not waste it. Do not pass it by. Do not let fear win. Share your faith. Love people. Give. Pray. Serve. Build what cannot burn. Heaven is coming. Live like it.

Many more New Covenant Bible Studies HERE. Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross.

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood." Luke 22:20
