In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ Luke 16:23-24 NIV

I find it interesting that the deceased rich man, from hell asks Abraham to send Lazarus to dip his finger in water to quench his first. This was the very man whom he had chosen to do nothing to be of help when they both were alive. There, however, will be no relief from the torment in hell. It will be continuous, just as there will be no suffering nor sadness for those who are in heaven. Take seriously what Christ tells us in this parable.
