You have followed what I have taught,
My conduct and my aim in life;
My steadfast love that I have sought,
My faith and patience to endure strife.

Persecutions and suffering,
In which I endured and did see;
Yet comfort came from buffering,
By which since the Lord rescued me.

All that will live a godly life,
In Christ suffer persecution;
Must be patient to endure strife,
Through the evil prosecution.

Evil people and deceivers,
Will be going from bad to worse;
Misleading any believers,
Seducers that try to coerce.

Continue in what you have learned,
That your faith has firmly believed;
Knowing the value what you earned,
The knowledge and wisdom received.

Since childhood that you have known,
Knowledge of the Holy Scriptures;
Which made you wise as you have grown,
You were taught by many teachers.

All Scripture is breathed out by God,
Is profitable for doctrine;
For training and righteously laud,
To direct spiritual discipline.

The Man of God may be perfect,
Fully equipped for all good deeds;
Although the people did reject,
Still, He catered for all their needs.
