Without Love

Sometimes I lose my focus,
And just plain miss the mark.
I get caught up in doing,
And lose sight of my heart.

God cares much about the things
I do, and what I say;
But He wants my heart of love,
As I walk in His way.

What does it really matter
If I walk and talk just so,
But miss loving my Jesus,
And walking with Him below?

What if I should live to please
Those ones whom I regard,
But miss my loving Savior,
And love for Him be marred?

It’s possible to obey
Without a heart of love,
And miss what really matters;
Loving Jesus, who’s above!

When I see His perfect love,
And my sins, He bore on that tree,
My heart is stirred with love,
For my Savior, Who first loved me.

When I love Jesus truly,
It’s my joy to obey!
Not to please those around me,
But for Him, ev’ry day!

Love can transform all things
To beauty and delight,
When it all is done for Him!
His smile makes it all right.

Without love, life is empty,
Because it’s missing the One
Who is perfect love Himself;
Even God’s precious Son.
