WE EACH NEED SELF-EXAMINATION

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test. I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test. 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 ESV
A good physical examination, is necessary to understand the value of a good Spiritual examination. It is truly the best examination we can give ourselves. Searching our heart is something our Lord is observing 24-7. He doesn’t take vacations or take naps as do we older saints do. As a follower of Jesus, I must be diligent how and what I do, regarding my life habits and purpose. In other words, will thoughts on my mind be pleasing to our Lord as I carry out my daily responsibilities?
One way our Lord has blessed me over the years is putting God’s word in my heart. Because of this, God’s Spirit in me will bring to mind such promises as: ‘Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.’ God’s Spirit doesn’t have to keep ‘knocking at my heart,’ to get my attention when it comes to my choices in what and how I carry out my responsibilities. We dare not be casual about memorizing God’s word if you truly want intimacy with Him who created us, and knows our heart.
Our ‘self-examination’ is to know if we’re truly abiding in Christ, or just as casual acquaintance. This will result in the measure of faith God assigns each person who wear His name. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. Romans 12:3
Father, thank you for my ‘self-examination, ‘because of faith given in serving. Amen
