Enjoy the Peace at the Next Level by Mike Ramey

     The interesting thing about life? People who only reach out to you when they want something are a dime a dozen. Trouble is, once they get what they want (or think they ‘need’) they are gone like the mists of time they came from.

     We live in an era of modern communication. However, I have noticed that this does NOT mean consistent contact. If YOU are the one making calls and ‘reaching out’ to people and they are NOT responding to you nearly as fast, then you need to take a step back, take a deep breath, and stop the calling and texting. Like the old saying: “If you set something free, trust in your decision: IF it was meant to be in your life, it will return—often in better shape. If it doesn’t return, it was never meant to be a part of your life in the first place.”

     Enjoy the peace of your decision, because the Lord is training you for the next level in your life. The same people who were around you at the last level of your life may not be making the trip up with you to the next level. The same God that created the universe can and will send people along—at the right time—to be a part of your life.

     These NEW people will be supporters, not drainers.

     Then, there is that matter of respect and peace. IF family members do not respect your spouse or your kids—regardless of which side of the family they represent—cut them off and enjoy your peace at the next level. Some people really do NOT know their place in life. They drain you just by hearing their name, as fast as the Enterprise shields were drained by the Borg.

     Cut them off.

     This may be a bit strange for some of my Christian friends. That relative or family member whom you have shared the gospel of Jesus Christ multiple times—and they still won’t come to Christ—need to be shown the door OUT of your life. Yes, love them from a distance. However, there comes a time when God marks a door—and your peace--closed to certain people.

     Keep that door closed. Enjoy the peace the Lord has provided at the next level.

     When you became a Christian, Christ re-wrote you down to your DNA. You became a new creature (II Cor. 5:17 KJV). Sadly, there are some folk—even Christians whom you were remarkably close to in your younger days in the faith—who have their blessing without you, and have moved on. Take the advice of I Cor. 13:11 KJV—become and rest in the man whom the Lord has made and move on to that next level of peace and blessing. You won’t regret your move on up!
