To The Jew

God said He’d be your refuge wherever you were sent,

He would be your solace in the times of great lament;

In the nations where you’ve wandered He would always be

Your Saviour and your Shepherd, if only you would see.

Most surely down the ages you’ve wandered near and far

And despite much persecution it’s amazing that you are,

But He said you’d be a nation while ever there was sun

And nothing can undo this—He is The Faithful One.

Your present situation is difficult at best

And it grieves me deeply ‘cause through you I’ve been blessed 

As has every single Christian who’s been born anew—

God chose to bring redemption through Him Who was a Jew.

Cry out to God I urge you, though I’m of no import

But understand from Scripture it’s to Him you must resort;

No nation, king or ruler can bring you rest and peace—

Only in Messiah will the times of trouble cease.

To the mocking nations, only this I have to say—

Search out Scripture’s pages and do so without delay;

For there it’s clearly mapped out the days that lie ahead, 

And Israel’s in the centre, for God Himself has said.
