And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.” Luke 12:16-18 NIV

Here a rich man discovers that he has a potential problem. He does not have enough storage for the harvest his field has yielded. The man was rich. He could have given the excessive harvest that he could not store to people in need. It would help others and would aid in eliminating enslavement to greed. But this rich man succumbed to the trap of greed. The more one has the more one wants. Greed can truly destroy one’s heart and blind one to that which is good and pleasing to God. Do not let yourself be trapped by greed.
