Whom Should You Fear?

“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.” Luke 12:4-5 NIV

There is a difference between fear of someone and being afraid of someone. Many people are afraid of God for various reasons, but this is not what He wants. He does wish you to have fear for Him, but not to be afraid of Him. God loves all of us much more than we could imagine. Be fearful of what He can do. He can do anything. He deals with everyone. Those who have died know what their relationship with God is eternally, for the soul lives when the body dies. Each of us makes a decision that will determine where our eternity shall be. Fear God but never be afraid of Him. The Father provides the ransom needed to wipe away our sins. He sacrificed His only Son that we should be with Him eternally, Now, should you be afraid of God who provides this for you?
